The perfect house, on the perfect lot, on the perfect street. Nearly a tear down to start with, it needed everything. A septic system; a surprise local water-company moratorium on construction; Kafkaesque County permitting process; a rogue contractor; leaky roof and one lunatic county inspector rendered this one the most excruciatingly stressful project up to then, but the end miraculously justified the means.
